Sheridan/Johnson County HS Track and Field: A total of 4 Sheridan High School Track and Field athletes proved they were the best of the best at the Wyoming Track Classic this past Friday in Casper.

The meet is for those who have recorded some of the times and/or marks so far this season, regardless of what Class they compete in.

Garrett Otto won both the boys 110 and 300 meter hurdles races.

Chance Morris won the 200 meter dash, setting a new meet record in the process.

Ryder Charest won the boys 800 meter run and Lilly Charest set a new meet record in the girls pole vault.

Sheridan/Buffalo HS Soccer: The Sheridan girls remain undefeated on the season.

On Friday, the Lady Broncs won at home vs. Cheyenne Central 4-2, and then on Saturday, they scored with 15 seconds to go, to beat Cheyenne East 1-nil.

The team has 2 games remaining in the regular season and needs to either win or tie 1 or them, to secure the #1 seed for the upcoming regional tournament.

Meanwhile, the Broncs lost their first game of the season back on Friday at Cheyenne Central 3-zip, but recovered to beat Cheyenne East 4-2.

This week is the last week of the regular season.

Sheridan plays Campbell County tomorrow, and Thunder Basin on Friday.

The boys will play on the road in both games, while the girls play at home.

Meanwhile, the Buffalo boys won both their games this past weekend at Douglas and at home vs. Rawlins, while the girls dropped both games.

The Bison and Lady Bison host Worland tomorrow.

Sheridan HS Softball: Sheridan went 2-1 with 1 tie against the southeast quadrant this past weekend.

On Friday, the Lady Broncs tied Wheatland 9-9, then lost vs. Cheyenne East 9-7

On Saturday, they beat Torrington 16-11 and Cheyenne Central 15-11.

Sheridan will conclude their regular season this week with games on Thursday at Worland and on Friday at Jackson.

Sheridan/Johnson County HS Spring Golf: Sheridan and Buffalo both competed at the Cody Invitational this past Friday, while Tongue River and Big Horn were at Lusk.

The Sheridan girls placed 1st, thanks to Shelbi Gardner and Camrn Wagner who placed 1st and 2nd individually.

Gavin Reed finished in a tie for 3rd for the Sheridan boys who placed 2nd in the team standings.

Sheridan/Buffalo Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers split games on Saturday at Casper, winning 9-5 and losing 11-1.

The team is back at home this coming Saturday for 2 games vs. Rapid City Post 320 and on Sunday for 2 games vs. Bozeman.

The Buffalo Bulls dropped both games this past weekend at Douglas.

They will return home on Saturday for 2 games vs. the Gillette Rustlers.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost 3 of 4, including the last 3 this past weekend at San Francisco.

Friday’s score was 4-zip.

Saturday’s score was 6-3, and yesterday’s score was 9-3.

Today is an off day on the schedule and the Rocks will start a 6-game homestand tomorrow, with 3 vs. Detroit, followed by 3 vs. San Diego.

Denver Nuggets Basketball/NBA Playoffs: The Denver Nuggets prevailed on Saturday and won Game 7 of their first round best of 7 series at home vs. the LA Clippers 120-101, to win the series 4-3.

The Nuggets will play Game 1 of their 2nd round best of 7 series today at Oklahoma City.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm.

Other final scores from yesterday, Golden State won Game 7 at Houston 103-89.

The Warriors will play Minnesota in the 2nd round starting tomorrow.

The second round got started yesterday in the East, and Indiana pulled a surprise winning at Cleveland 121-112, and lead that series 1-0.

Colorado Avalanche Hockey/NHL Playoffs: The season for the Colorado Avalanche ended on Saturday with a 4-2 loss in Game 7 of their first round best of 7 series at Dallas and they ended up losing the series 4-3.

The Avs were in control with a 2-zip lead, then things fell apart in the last 12 minutes.

Last night’s Game 7 between St. Louis and Winnipeg was a doozy.

The Blues had a 3-1 lead with 2 minutes to go in regulation, and then the Jets scored twice and would tie the score with 1.6 seconds remaining, and then won it in the second overtime 4-3.

Winnipeg will play Dallas in the 2nd round.

star James Jordan has become one of show creator ‘s favorite go-to actors over the years, and in a new interview, he shares why he still finds it “constantly challenging” to collaborate with the high-powered writer and director.

Jordan first worked with Sheridan on his critically-lauded film , which dropped in 2017, one year prior to his breakthrough with . The film served as a precursor to many of the main themes of , and it also featured may of the same actors, including Kelsey Asbille, Gil Birmingham, Hugh Dillon, Ian Bohen, Martin Sensmeier and Jordan.

He’s gone on to work on , , , , and with Sheridan, and Jordan tells Taste of Country that every new project offers new growth opportunities.

“I think a great writer, a deep writer like Taylor is — like any writer that has depth to them — wants to find an ensemble of actors that he recycles,” he reflects.

“I’m not the only one; he uses a handful of us over and over again. I think he likes to challenge us, to see how far he can push us, and to see what we bring to the table in regard to his storytelling,” he adds.

“And also, I think he enjoys seeing us swing for the fences, trying to hit those home runs with his material. And when you have someone that poetic and that brilliant, who thoughtfully designs his stories so well, that’s what attracts you as an actor. It’s constantly challenging to play these people that he writes and bring them to life in such an interesting way.”

Jordan plays the role of Dale Bradley, a petroleum engineer who works for the same company and is one of Tommy’s best friends, as well as his roommate. His character provides a degree of comic relief from some of the more serious themes of the show, but he also has some heavier scenes as part of the mix.

Jordan says his work with Sheridan is probably not done.

“I admire the man, and look at him as a mentor and a friend, and look forward to more,” he states.

was a huge success for Paramount’s streaming service, Paramount+, for the service in its first season, which wrapped on Sunday (Jan. 12).

Paramount has yet to announce a second season, but according to series star Demi Moore, filming for Season 2 will commence in the early part of 2025. She let that news slip during an interview at the Cannes Film Festival in May of 2024, reports, but there’s been no official confirmation.
