According to a news release on the county's official website, the closures will take place next Thursday and Friday, affecting a variety of public services.
Among the services taking a break for the holiday are Animal Services and Control, the Department of Social Services, and the Elections Office. Offering a pause for workers and a reminder of the season's communal spirit, the Government Center, which houses Administration and Finance, will also not be operational during this period. ICATS has announced the office will be closed, so no routes will run, and the Public Health offices in both Mooresville and Statesville will not provide services, including the Mobile Health Unit clinic.
The Iredell County Public Library, encompassing branches in Statesville, Harmony, and Troutman, will remain closed from Thursday, Nov. 27 through Sunday, Nov. 30, with doors set to open again on Monday, Dec. 1. Closures extend as well to the Register of Deeds Office, the Tax Office, and Veteran Services. For those planning ahead around waste management, Solid Waste facilities will only be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, resuming regular hours the following day.
For residents looking for recreation options during the holiday, the Recreation Center is one such spot but will be closed on Thursday, operating from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday. Parks, ever a testament to the continuity of nature's pace, will remain open from dawn to dusk.
